We are excited to announce that Seth Wareing will be joining our team as General Manager, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise gained from his work in the agricultural sector, particularly within the beef industry.

Growing up in rural Northamptonshire without a farming background, Seth’s career journey began with a 12-month dairy farm work experience placement in New Zealand. This experience sparked his passion for the industry and set him on a path to pursue a career in agriculture.

On his return, Seth studied at Moulton College, Northamptonshire, where he earned a BSc in Animal Management. Following his studies, he joined Keenan under their graduate scheme as a beef nutritionist for the global company. During his seven-year tenure, Seth played a pivotal role in spearheading the beef programme and implementing a digital recording system, driving innovation within the company.

Seth then went on to work for Blade ABP as a nutritionist, where he was responsible for establishing the research farm in Shropshire. In addition, he worked in the retail side of the company, overseeing key accounts such as ASDA and Co-op, and was deeply involved in the supply chain, ensuring a seamless journey from field to fork.

Following his role at Blade, Seth worked as the Business Manager at the Stabiliser Cattle Company for seven years, where he played a key role in driving the business forward. Through breed promotion and pushing data and technology adoption, Seth helped modernise and expand the Society’s impact in the industry.

Latterly, Seth completed a role at AHDB as an Engagement Manager, where he worked closely with farmers on the beef and lamb side, facilitating engagement and promoting best practices across the industry. A family man, Seth enjoys watching rugby and thrives on innovation, consistently basing his decisions on data to drive impactful results.

When asked about joining the Society he said ‘I am delighted to be starting here at the Hereford Cattle Society, a prestigious and well-regarded breed with nearly 150 years of pedigree breeding behind it. I look forward to engaging with the membership and taking the breed forward’.

We are thrilled to welcome Seth to our team and look forward to the valuable expertise and fresh perspectives he will bring to our breed.
