Vodka goes all the way
Under the vigilant eye of judge Robin Irvine from Northern Ireland, twenty-five entries were put forward for him to consider, crowning Dendor 1 Vodka as his champion.
Dendor 1 Vodka has had a successful show season, consistently being among the winners, and continued this streak at the Royal Lancashire Show. Demonstrating quality, style and reliability in the show ring secures the male and breed champion titles. This April 2021 born bull has frequently secured reserve spots including the Royal Highland Show earlier this year, but now achieves the top position. This accomplishment highlights Vodka’s quality and is a testament to his breeding. Bred by DE, ED & AL Jones is now owned by Miss Bethan Hutchinson. He is out of Dendor 1 Wattle 9th and sired by Gouldingpoll 1 Moonshine.
Reserve male and reserve breed champion was a young bull from Mrs Emma Jackson, Eveter 1 Alan Jackson. This Solpoll 1 Lawman son, hailing from a Barbern 1 June cow has distinguished himself by winning his class at the Great Yorkshire Show and claiming both the breed and supreme championships at Bury Agricultural Show. His impressive lineage and show performance underline his quality and potential in the field.
Over in the female section, Porton House 1 Duchess 2nd claimed the female championship. She is no stranger to the limelight, having taken the overall top spot at the Royal Norfolk previously. She is a March 2022 born heifer, bred by Paul and Vicky Moyle of Porton House Herefords. Bethan purchased her from a society sale in 2023 and has further enhanced her winning rosettes. Born out of Gouldingpoll 1 Duchess 978 and sired by Dendor 1 Sherlock.
Congratulations go to Maddy Scott for exhibiting Holmefold 1 Lady Luck, who won her heifer, born on or after 1st January 2023 class and then went on to become reserve female champion. This young heifer was born in 2023 and was born out of Hoghton View 1 Chico 1st and sired by Hoghton View 1 Kid Rock.
The best pair of Hereford animals’ class was well represented with the Eveter team taking home the winning rosette, with the Hollyvale and Hallwood herds close behind.
The young handler classes were supported by Liam Jackson-Carr and Abbie Jackson-Carr who both came 2nd in their respective classes.
